Terms of Service and Personal-Use License

These Terms of Service and Personal-Use License ("Terms") are an agreement between you and The Serenity File ("we", "us"), the publisher of The Serenity Family Legacy File and related products sold at TheSerenityFile.com. By placing an order, downloading, or using any of our products, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not purchase or use our products.

1. What you are buying

Our products are digital files (such as PDFs) delivered by download. When you purchase a product, you are buying a license to use it, not ownership of the product or its content. The Serenity Family Legacy File, including its text, prompts, page designs, layouts, forms, and artwork, is copyright © 2026 The Serenity File. All rights reserved. It is protected by United States copyright law and international treaties.

2. Your personal-use license

Once your payment is complete, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • download the file you purchased and keep it on devices you own;
  • print copies for use by you and the members of your own household;
  • fill in, complete, and keep the pages for your family's personal, non-commercial use.

One purchase covers one household. Each additional household needs its own purchase.

3. What you may not do

Unless we give you written permission, you may not:

  • share, forward, email, text, upload, post, or otherwise send the file, or blank copies of its pages, to anyone outside your household;
  • place the file on any website, file-sharing service, shared drive, social media, or marketplace;
  • resell, give away, rent, lend, sublicense, or distribute the file or printed copies of its blank pages;
  • copy, adapt, translate, or create derivative products from it for sale or distribution;
  • remove or alter any copyright notice, license notice, or purchaser information that appears in the file;
  • use it with clients or customers as part of a business (for example, as an estate planner, attorney, financial advisor, or caregiver service) without a separate professional license from us.

Pages you have filled in with your own family's information belong to you. You may share your completed pages with the people you choose, such as relatives, your attorney, or your physician.

4. Copy identification

To protect our work, files may be marked with information that identifies the purchaser, such as name, email address, or order number. Removing or altering this information is a breach of these Terms.

5. If these Terms are broken

If you break these Terms, your license ends automatically and you must delete all copies of the file. We may take action to protect our copyright, including sending takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and seeking all remedies available under the law, including damages.

6. Not legal, medical, or financial advice

The Serenity Family Legacy File is a personal organizer. It is not a will, trust, power of attorney, advance healthcare directive, or any other legal document, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney, physician, financial professional, or tax advisor. Naming someone in the file does not give that person legal authority.

7. Refunds

Because our products are digital and delivered instantly, please see our Refund Policy for how refunds work.

8. Limitation of liability

Our products are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our products, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the product.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place your order applies to that order.
